White Bird - Australian Snakewood - 7.5 x 2 x 1 - 2025 -
$950 This spoon evolved around the white sapwood check mark that was the
outer surface of the small limb I had - I did not carve that bird like
form - it was there - when we all first started to draw many of us used
a V form a bit like this shape to represent a bird - a group of such
marks made a flock of birds - this wood is very dense and has a pleasant
sweet smell when it's cut - it's hard to imagine any worm or insect
boring through this wood but there are two filled worm holes in the
spoon bowl. |
