Figured Ancient River Gum – 11 x 3 x 2.25 - Another Australian bog like wood, this wood is grey/black with considerable figuring which becomes visible under bright light – like the texture on the tiny Kanooka spoon the natural texture on top of the handle and around the scoop rim indicate the natural termination of decay and the start of the preserved area – quite remarkable to be carving wood 3 – 5,000 years old – The scoop handle utilizes the drop shaped lobes that have fascinated me for a couple years - $3200.
